Big Red… Primer Red

I personally think "Primer Red" is a horrible name for such a great color.  Just my opinion, of course.

This piece is incredible.  I'm thinking of keeping it for one of the boys, I love it so much.  It is solid, heavy & functions really well.

Before…

During…

And after…

Like I said, I painted it in Chalk Paint, Primer Red.  Two coats & done.

I added huge & chunky iron hardware and finished it with the dark Annie Sloan wax (which I LOVE).

Love this piece!

Have a great weekend, everyone!  Much more to share soon, so check back :)

  1. That is a great color!! I was so deceived by the name. I think I may try some of that color. By the way that dresser looks fab! You did a great job on it!

  4. Beautiful!! I have a question for you....I cant afford Annie's right now, so where do you get the wax to put on the furniture, and what brand do you use? can it be used on painted metal??
    thanks so much!!

  5. oops....just painted a metal chair, have re-upolsterd the cushion, and need to finish it. Dont want to use spray acrylic, and the brush on drips too much. Would the wax work?

  6. Hi! Got an email with your comment, but you're a 'noreply' email address on blogger, so I hope you see this!! I just ordered some fiddes wax ~ I've heard good things about it, and it is MUCH less expensive, so we'll see. I got it off of Amazon. I would think it would work much the same on painted metal as it does on painted wood. The container doesn't indicate otherwise. Leave me your email address next time, I could go on & on :)
