I had tons of fun with this console table. It was pretty plain before, but super sturdy with great lines.
I first painted a coat of CP Aubusson on it:
Next, I did a combination of CP Louis Blue, Provence and a teensy bit of Chateau Gray here & there. I sanded, wiped, painted some more, wiped, etc., until I got this:
I love how the wood grain shows through the paint… I've never really gotten quite that effect before so it was fun to see it all unfold.
thanks for coming by!

Absolutely beautiful! Love the color. Reminds me of ocean waves.
ReplyDeleteNow if I only had a beach house, it would be perfect! Looks like you had fun playing with your paint!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Layering this paint is so fun, but I love that you used so many different colors. I must try this soon! Deb
ReplyDeleteKathie-That looks great- love the wood grain that still can be seen- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the wood grain too popping out.Blue is my favorite color but still can't find the perfect blue with the chalk paint. I just finished a dresser with the Aubusson blue mixed with some white then just Aubusson blue on top it looks like denim.not quite what I was going for but will live with it for now. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletePretty color combos. I am working on a small piece now with the Provence, my new favorite color. Love how your piece turned.
ReplyDeleteI think I have the same area rug. I love the blue. Looks awesome. I have to paint something soon. I still have chalk paint left.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to play around with it until you get the look your looking for. That's what makes each of us different from eachother, we have our own 'style'. Yours turned out fabulous :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous! the layering is so awesome, kathie!
ReplyDeleteWow... you have lots of talent with renovating old pieces! I've stopped by from Miss Mustard Seed. I also just love what you did for the side board! That came so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday ~ we're waiting to see how much rain our area will get with the hurricane!
