new lamps

Once again, I am incredibly regretful that I don't have a 'before' picture to share with you, but I think you can all imagine with me what these beauties looked like in their former life. I got them at the goodwill without shades... they were shiny black, with a white & gold asian-inspired pattern/decoration on the front. Sounds pretty, right? But, it gets better! The bases were shiny, really shiny, brass also!

I primed them- the lamp and the base all together- with some Kilz and then painted them in a Rusteolum spraypaint. In fact, I saw something painted in this same color just the other day by Centsational Girl :)

I got the shades at HomeGoods for $14.99 each, and I ordered the finials online (let me know if you want the website, and I'll dig it up for you!)

Without further ado, here are my new master bedroom lamps...

Just goes to show, spray paint is a powerful tool :)
